Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. I'm so excited for another fantastic school year! For those that don't know me yet, I want to start by sharing a little about myself. I am starting my 4th year at Bancroft, 10th year in school administration and 27th year in education. I am a California State University Fullerton alumni (Go Titans!). I am married, with 3 grown children, 7 grandchildren, and lots of fur babies. I love spending time with my family, both here and in Roseville. I'm thrilled to be back at Bancroft with all our little Bobcats.
At Bancroft, we are committed to empowering students to develop intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally. Our dedicated teachers will continue to provide all students with high quality instructions designed to meet the needs of all our diverse learners using a variety of teaching styles: small group instruction, targeted learning objectives, and consistent, meaningful feedback. Our teachers strive to provide all students with engaging lessons to foster growth in academics, collaboration, communication and critical thinking. The social emotional stability of our children is a priority. Students in all classes begin their day with a Social-Emotional Lesson (SEL) to make sure they are prepared for the day ahead. In short, our teachers will provide students with the necessary tools to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world and develop the skills to become successful global citizens!
I am thrilled to be a part of the dedicated, talented, caring and committed educators and am excited to be working with our wonderful and brilliant students. One of Bancroft’s greatest strengths is our powerful family and community support. As parents, guardians and family, you are your child’s first and greatest teacher. Together as a loving school community—family and school—working as a mutually trusted and respected team, we exemplify our belief and philosophy that “it takes an entire village to raise and educate a child.
Communication between home and school is valued. Starting this year, there will be monthly newsletters from the Principal with information about upcoming events, dates to remember, ways to help your child succeed and other valuable information. Your child’s teacher will also be communicating with you directly (check with their preferred method of communication). “Back to School Night” is held the first week of school so that parents have the needed information to support their child in his/her current school experience. Parent-Teacher conferences are held in October, acting as a progress report before Report Cards go out in November. Academic goals for continued growth and success are established together.
As the Principal of Bancroft Elementary School, my door is always open to you. Educating children through exceptional school programs is our business and our passion. Your child is important to us. You are important to us. Together as a school family let us enjoy and relish every moment of this school year with our students because it passes by so quickly as if ‘in the blink of an eye”!
Warmest Regards,
Cindy Dunn
